How to cosplay the 12th Doctor
Ah, the Twelfth Doctor. The originally cynical, pragmatic Doctor, whose grumpy façade gave way to reveal someone who is very much a teenager in an old man's body, the total inverse of his bowtie-wearing predecessor. Someone with a minimalist, but stylish attire. My fave Doc. Today, we'll see exactly how to emulate his style (in case you didn't read the title). Let's go!
The Constants
The Variables
1. Deep Breath/Into the Dalek/Mummy on the Orient Express ending/Flatline/Dark Water/Death in Heaven (heck, mostly all of series 8)
The Constants
- Navy blue crombie coat with red lining (the actual screen-used one is custom, but I think this should do)
- Doc Marten shoes that look like this:
- Navy blue trousers (for series 8 at least)
- Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses for the sonic ones
The Variables
1. Deep Breath/Into the Dalek/Mummy on the Orient Express ending/Flatline/Dark Water/Death in Heaven (heck, mostly all of series 8)
- Black John Smedley cardigan (Deep Breath/Into the Dalek) or black waistcoat (all the others)
- White shirt
2. Robot of Sherwood/Time Heist
- Purple shirt
3. Listen/The Caretaker/In the Forest of the Night/Death In Heaven ending
- Black holey jumper with white t-shirt
(SUGGESTED: Get a black T-shirt and put white dots on it)
- Black shirt with white polka dots
- Black jumper again (refer to no. 3)
- Black zip-up hoodie (charcoal grey for The Woman who Lived)
- Label Lab Misty Mountain T-shirt (available on Redbubble)
- Pink Henley top under the T-shirt
- Black zip-up hoodie
- Grey plaid trousers
- Label Lab Negative Flower T-shirt
- Black zip-up hoodie
- Black plaid trousers
- Star/Space Shark T-shirt (again, on Redbubble)
- Black zip-up hoodie
- Brown plaid trousers (I am not sure about this, though. If you find another source that says different, they're probably right.)
- Burgundy/Maroon velvet Crombie coat with red lining
- White shirt
- Black waistcoat
- Black trousers
This is basically the same as No. 9. Just wear a black frock coat instead of the Crombie one.
So that concludes this post! If you have anything to say, well, comment on this! New post next week!

Love the attention to detail! Can't wait to read more.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention a few things:
ReplyDeleteThe navy blue coat can be bought from Abbyshot.com, and the velvet one from jbsuits.com. Both are quite expensive, however.
Right, I finally got sorted on the brown plaid issue! He wore that in The Woman Who Lived, and NOT Face the Raven. As for the Face the Raven trousers, well... Just wear the navy ones. So, to recap, The Woman Who Lived is now charcoal grey hoodie, brown plaid trousers, and holey jumper.
